A major event for teenagers who turn 17.5 is that they are eligible to take a learner’s test to drive.
Great from one perspective, but I’m wondering if I’m the only parent who also is also concerned. We have 6 months, and then they are on their own – at the mercy of what seems to be pretty poor driving generally in Cyprus.
Talking on #mobiles, no seatbelt, motorbikes weaving in and out of the traffic, unsafe vehicles and the list goes on…And we won’t mention drinking and driving after a party…
While we think our kids are angels, the stats show that something happens after they have their licence, hence the very high insurance rates. This is something which we need to address and find solutions to. We have FAR too many deaths on the road involving young drivers.
